What?

The Toolshed is an alternative education Centre operating as a stand alone, self-sufficient, not-for-profit business.
Encouraging creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and cultivating passion.
The ethos aligns to the New Meaning Social Enterprise philosophy of helping people get where they want to be - earning their own living - or creating social enterprises along the way.

 

Multi-Trade construction traineeships for 16-24 year olds.

 

Attitudinal learning to develop personality strength, confidence, maturity, self-belief and resilience. 

 

Why?

We do things differently.  
We work to bolster young people’s strengths, learning styles and, ultimately, their potential.  
We have tutors, mentors and achievement companions to ensure we help overcome any hurdles to achieving success.

English and Maths classes are integrated, active and relevant.

What Next?

Level 2 in a specific trade as decided by our participants and employers.

We will support the you in whatever direction you want to go:  back to College, helping find work or an apprenticeship.  
Toolshed "Works" offering paid work to our graduates under contract to local employers.
Toolshed "Construction" developing trades teams from our graduates building new homes.
